Privacy Policy

Fynna ("we", "us") cares about your privacy. This page explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have under the GDPR and similar laws. If anything is unclear, contact us at contact@fynna.ai.

1. Who we are

Fynna is an AI companion service operated as an online platform. The data controller is the operator of fynna.ai, reachable at contact@fynna.ai.

2. What we collect

• Account: email, hashed password, pseudonym, gender preference.
• AI Companion data: traits you choose (appearance, personality, profession), names, generated portraits and scenes.
• Chat content: messages exchanged with your AI companions, used to generate AI replies and stored to maintain the conversation history.
• Technical: IP address, user agent, browser language, cookies. Logged for security and abuse prevention.
• Payment: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.

3. How we use your data

• Provide and operate the service (account, chat, image/video generation).
• Improve the service quality (debug, abuse detection, model fine-tuning on aggregated, anonymized data).
• Reading conversations: to improve the service and detect abuse, a small number of authorized members of our team may read conversations with AI companions. Your email address and pseudonym are not shown to them, and each reading is logged.
• Send you account-related emails (password reset, billing).
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. AI-generated content

All AI personas and images are computer-generated fictional characters. They do not depict real people. By using Fynna you confirm you are 18+ and you will not attempt to create depictions of real persons or minors.

5. Cookies and analytics

We use a session cookie for authentication and a language cookie to remember your preference. We rely on Cloudflare for DDoS protection and CDN, which sets technical cookies (cf_clearance, __cf_bm) under its own privacy policy.

6. Third parties

To deliver the service, we share strictly necessary data with:

• Cloudflare (CDN, DDoS, edge caching): IP, request metadata.
• OpenRouter (LLM inference): chat content (transient, not stored on their end beyond ToS).
• Modal (image and video generation): prompts and generated outputs (transient compute).
• Payment processor: billing details if you subscribe.

7. Data retention

Account data is kept as long as your account exists. Chat history is kept until you delete it (per companion in the chat settings, or all your conversations at once in the account settings) or your account. Generated images are kept until they are deleted.

Account deletion: your account is closed as soon as you ask and permanently deleted 30 days later, together with your companions, conversations, photos and videos. Signing in again before that date cancels the deletion. During these 30 days, your conversations may still be read by the team under the conditions of section 3. Afterwards we keep an anonymous record of your departure (usage figures, categories of requests and the reason you gave, with no conversation text, no image and no identity) to understand why people leave. If you paid, your order numbers stay linked to these figures for 400 days, to answer a possible payment dispute, and accounting records are kept as the law requires. An image generated for you may have joined the image library of your companion's model: it stays there, with no link to your account.

Logs are kept up to 90 days for security.

8. Your rights (GDPR)

• Access: request a copy of your data.
• Rectification: correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: delete your account and all associated data (effective 30 days after your request, see section 7; write to us for immediate erasure).
• Restriction and objection: limit specific processing.
• Portability: receive your data in a machine-readable format.

Email contact@fynna.ai to exercise any of these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Security

Passwords are bcrypt-hashed. Sessions use signed cookies over HTTPS. Communications between you and Fynna are encrypted in transit. Despite our best efforts, no online service is fully immune to risk; you accept this when using Fynna.

10. Age requirement

Fynna is strictly reserved for adults (18+, or the age of majority in your country). By using Fynna you confirm you meet this requirement. We may suspend accounts that violate this term.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are notified by email or via a banner on the site at least 14 days before they take effect.
